There is a special connection between babies and their pet dogs; pet dogs are so protective over their “siblings” and it is so sweet to see the interaction between the tw0!

bark & tweet  photography (www.barkandtweet.com) recently photographed Raven, a retired search and rescue dog with Stacy and Stacy’s adorable daughter.  We shot the portrait session at the recently opened (and awesome) Bee Caves Park in Lakeway, Texas and we are sharing some of our favorite photos of their portrait session.  Raven is losing some mobility in his legs so we concentrated on “posed” portraits at this session rather than “interactive” shots although we were able to capture some of those, two, especially between puppy, baby and Mommy!

My dogs got their summer cuts again in early December while it was still warm out but once we got our first freeze they were SO COLD!  So, I went down to visit Cynthia, the owner of FETCH dog boutique on Bee Caves Road in Austin, to see what she recommended.  For my little Pekingese, she picked out an adorable sweater (look at the button details on the back!)  For my older french frenchbulldog/ pekingese mix, she recommended something a little anorack jacket that is just adorable on him.  With all the cold weather we’ve been having, they are now so toasty!  I am including some photos of the doggies in their new winter gear.

bark & tweet photography (www.barkandtweet.com) recently shot a Puppy Love portrait session for Katrina and Bobby and their adorable terrier, Buddy, in downtown Austin.  Katrina and Bobby love downtown Austin and really wanted an urban location for their photo session.  In Austin, we are blessed with great skylines surrounded by beautiful scenery.  We did this shoot in December and were blessed with a sunny day and lots of smiles from Buddy! Buddy really seems to like getting his photo taken – he did a great job! Love that smile, Buddy!

We love, love, love weddings with dogs in them!  And we love, love, love venues that are dog-friendly and welcome four-legged friends!  We had the opportunity earlier this month to photograph the wedding of Brianne & Stephen at the fabulous, dog-friendly resort at the Hyatt-Lost Pines in Bastrop, Texas.  Here is a little Sneak Peek for Brianne + Stephen.  Their full gallery will be available at our wedding site:  www.austinimagery.com in a few weeks!

Taurus Training , which offers dog training, boarding and doggie daycare, has 4 locations in the Austin metro area. bark & tweet photography (www.barkandtweet.com) was invited to photograph the Holiday Yappy Hour at the Taurus Training-Lake Travis location!  Taurus-Lake Travis is such a great atmosphere – there are separate areas for small dogs and large dogs to play during the day and there are large colorful boarding kennels that even have individual A/C’s and doggie doors; pretty cool!  The folks at Taurus-Lake Travis put up a Christmas tree by a roaring fire and we had a great time photographing Taurus dogs enjoying the Holiday Season!  Here are some photos from the event – Happy Howlidays – everyone!

Crew is an adorable English Springer Spaniel that we photographed with her family last week.  Her owner, who lives in Lakeway, Texas, is a pilot and the family plane was the perfect backdrop for their “Puppy Love” photo session with Crew.  We are including some photos of Crew with the family’s children that they will be using for their annual Christmas card.  By the way, to our lovely blog readers, we offer a complimentary Holiday card design as part of your portrait session with bark & tweet photography when ordering your Holiday cards through our studio!

Our client, Connie, has a cabin in Dripping Springs, Texas which was the perfect backdrop for her “Puppy Love” portrait session.  The country roads, the red paint on the cabin’s porch and the old oak floors were the perfect backdrop for the portrait session with her boxer mix and chihuahua puppy!  We are including some of her favorite photos from her portrait session.  We have also included some of these photos in the “bark” gallery on the bark&tweet photography (www.barkandtweet.com) website.

Austin, Texas is such a great place to have pets – we have pet friendly restaurants, lots of great off-leash dog parts, hiking trails and lots of amazing pet rescue group!  We are proud to live in such a pet friendly city.
